SOSIALISASI DAN PELATIHAN ECO ENZYM: PENGOLAHAN LIMBAH ORGANIK MENJADI ECO ENZYM DI DESA DUNGGALA

The management of organic waste remains a significant issue in Dunggala Village, Batudaa District, Gorontalo Regency, where the majority of residents work as farmers. This community service program aimed to enhance public awareness and skills, particularly among housewives, in processing organic waste into environmentally friendly and economically valuable eco-enzyme. The program was implemented through a participatory training approach using a learning by doing strategy, actively involving community members in the processes of socialization, discussion, and hands-on eco-enzyme production. The approach began with environmental observation, followed by a trial production of eco-enzyme by the team, and continued with training sessions involving the village women’s association (PKK), farmer groups, and local community leaders. The results demonstrated increased knowledge and skills among residents in managing organic waste, the development of collective awareness to utilize household waste, and the emergence of community initiatives to independently produce eco-enzyme as an alternative to chemical fertilizers and household cleaning products. Furthermore, the program fostered the rise of new local leaders and opened up environmentally based business opportunities that support the village’s economic and social sustainability.
